About Nails at Home
Nails at Home is a small site about one thing: nail designs you can realistically do yourself, on short nails, at your kitchen table. No salon-only techniques, no three-hour art pieces — just ideas that work with regular polish, gel polish and a home lamp, builder gel or dip powder.
Every idea comes with what you need, how long it takes and how hard it is, plus the small tricks that make a home manicure look neat: thin coats, capping the free edge, cleaning up before you cure.
What you'll find here
- Seasonal roundups — Christmas, winter, New Year's, Valentine's and more, published ahead of each season.
- How-to basics — gel at home, builder gel and easy nail art for beginners.
- Honest supply lists — generic product types, so you can use what you already have.
About our images
The nail designs pictured on this site are AI-generated illustrations. We create them to show what a design idea looks like on short nails. They are not photos of real manicures, real clients or any nail artist's work, and the hands in them are not real people.
Because they are illustrations, small details (like the exact number of dots or the precise shade) may differ from what you get with your own polish. The written instructions are what matter: every design we include is one that can be done at home with ordinary tools.
We don't copy or repost other people's photos. If you ever think an image here looks too close to someone's original work, please tell us and we'll review it right away.
A note on gel and safety
We're not medical professionals and nothing here is medical advice. When using gel products, follow your lamp's and product's instructions and keep gel off your skin. If you have a reaction to any nail product, stop using it and talk to a doctor.
